When the people vote on self-interest, vote the corrupt and corrupting

I received from different parts of the following text to which I gave a title that seems to me appropriate. The text circulated without source, but only as the author Elsa Morante. It seemed too tailor-made to take the risk to disclose it without being sure and certain of its origin. I asked who sent it to me and after some research, I was given the bibliographic source, and therefore I do my public. Needless to say, the anger and bitterness for a repeat of conditions and behaviors that condemn Italy to extinction. I have always believed that life was the responsibility of those who live and how he lives, in front of this text I have to resign the inevitability of "fate", ie a ancestral condemnation sanctioned in some hellish gorge that Italy does not deserve to be neither free nor democratic. Unless we do together ... the revolution, rebels, mainly strike and surge of pride and indignation on behalf of the dignity of free men and women, today brutalized by a government and a parliament that have emptied his soul of Italy and perhaps of his redemption.

"
